Jeremy Hissem, Van Buren County CSD Superintendent
Launch the media gallery 1 playerMr. Hissem began working at Van Buren County CSD July 2019; his first day was also the official first day of the newly consolidated school district. He was raised in Montrose, IA and graduated from Central Lee High School. Following graduation, he attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO earning scholarships for baseball, theater and music. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education in 2003. Later earning a Masters of Educational Leadership from Drake University and a Superintendent Certificate from the University of Northern Iowa.
He married his high school sweetheart, Kelli, and is blessed with two wonderful daughters, Kinsey and Kaylin. Outside of attending his daughter's activities, he enjoys bowhunting whitetails and turkeys, canoeing, hiking, exercising, construction projects, gardening and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals.
